2022 was a big year for clinicians using Violet.
25 new health care organizations started using Violet. 10,194 cultural competence courses were completed. And 4,106 cultural competence course hours were logged.
Violet helps the health care industry become more equitable and culturally competent by providing the right educational tools for clinicians. And now, we’re gearing up for more comprehensive and engaging education, thanks to experts in the field.
Violet is proud to announce its 2023 Clinical Review Board responsible for auditing and ensuring the clinical efficacy of our first-of-its-kind cultural competence continuing education for health care professionals:
- Dr. Jack Bartel, Psy. D (he/him) is a licensed clinical psychologist and LGBTQ+ health educator and consultant. He currently provides training, consultation, and content creation for businesses and health care organizations. The content focuses on a wide array of LGBTQIA topics, as well as how to be inclusive in all other aspects of care. He also provides affirmative counseling to the LGBTQ+ community and specializes in gender-affirming care.
- Dr. Deann Butler, MHA (she/her) holds a PhD in health care administration with a concentration in structural racism. She founded Connected Consultant, a health care consulting company dedicated to helping the workforce grow through onboarding, professional development, and DEI training. With over fifteen years of health care experience and multiple degrees, Dr. Butler guides health care organizations and professionals toward health equity.
- Tesiah Coleman, MSN (she/her) is a nurse practitioner, doula, and lactation counselor with multiple clinical areas of expertise, including perinatal care and gynecology. She is also the Director of Virtual Care at Tia and an educator at Violet.
- Mona Eshaiker, LMFT (she/her) is a licensed psychotherapist and DEI consultant. With over ten years of experience specializing in workplace wellness for historically underrepresented employees, she hosts workshops that are empathic, research-based, and actionable.
- Dr. Jessica Jackson, Psy. D (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist. She is a DEIB leader, holding over fifteen years of experience in clinical research and intervention implementation. She leverages behavioral health expertise to drive high-impact corporate mental health initiatives that benefit communities.
- Dr. Kimmy Fleming Pedersen, PhD (she/her) is a clinical health psychologist who cares for individuals and their families, as inpatients and outpatients, in coordination with other medical providers. She treats a broad array of behavioral health challenges, including adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma-related disorders primarily among individuals who are dealing with other medical conditions.
- Dr. Marcella Raimondo, PhD, MPH (she/her) is a licensed psychologist. She is also a clinical trainer who speaks on multicultural issues surrounding eating disorders. She has delivered hundreds of clinical and community trainings at colleges and universities, mental and public health agencies, and professional eating disorder conferences since 1995.
- Sofía Webb, LSW (she/her) is a clinical social worker and therapist who specializes in treating clients with trauma, complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, attachment issues, and codependency. She is trained in trauma treatment as a Certified Trauma Professional. Additionally, she supports clients struggling with depression, ADHD, substance use, eating disorders, mood and personality disorders, grief and loss, family conflict, and women’s issues. She believes that therapy is a wholehearted commitment to growth and healing that opens the door to self-compassion and emotional fortitude.
Violet’s Clinical Review Board will help design better education, provide feedback on the product, and inspire innovative ideas. Most importantly, the Board will help ensure Violet’s education is at the forefront of clinical thinking, thought leadership, and more. The Board has the right expertise, values, and personal background to properly oversee Violet’s education for clinicians who want to improve their inclusive care delivery of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ patients.
